Emily Louise Root, MA, CCC-SLP
Emily is the founder of Pediatric Speech, Language & Learning Center LLC and has been a licensed speech pathologist for more than 15 years.
She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association and the Stuttering Foundation of America.
Emily provides speech therapy for children ages 2-21 who present with a variety of communication difficulties ranging from language delays to autism to stuttering.
She is widely recognized as a leading expert in stuttering.
Emily received her bachelor's degree in linguistics from the University of California Santa Cruz and received her master's degree in speech pathology from New York University.
Emily began her career in a pediatric outpatient hospital setting and has extensive experience working with children in the public and private school settings.
Emily also has supervised student clinics in a college setting.
At Brooklyn College, Emily taught undergraduate and graduate level classes in the communication disorders department. In addition to her clinical accomplishments, Emily has taken doctoral-level classes at the Graduate Center, City University of New York, in the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences Department. Emily is also an adjunct professor in speech at Kean University and San Francisco State University.
Emily believes in working closely with parents to help their children achieve their goals.
